About This Piece

Montreal, Quebec, Canada, 1960s, black and white view of the city's skyline featuring a mix of historic and modern buildings. He started his career as a photographer in 1920. He was one of the first photographers, who used a Leica. His images today are displayed in several museums, for example in the Civil War Museum in Salamanca, Spain, the Olympic Museum in Lausanne, Switzerland, the Industrial Museum in Oberhausen, Germany. Andres was a contributor for Edward Steichens Exhibition "The family of man" at the Museum of Modern Art in New York in 1951.
