Rare Goldscheider Art Deco ceramic figure of the 1920's: Representation of a dancer in pose. She wears a headdress that tapers to a point at the front and frames her face, and a short, strapless dress with long fringes. with her upper body inclined and looking to the right, she holds a scarf behind her with arms outstretched to the side, which is decorated on the front with elaborate, colored floral decorations. The figure is based on a black, stepped round base, artist's signature 'Laurenzl' on the back of the scarf, below. Designed by Josef Lorenzl (1892 - 1950), one of the most important designers who worked for the Goldscheider manufactory in the period of 1920-1940.
