Mark: It is the first WMF impressed mark, used from 1880-1925 for silver-plated hollow-ware. The company 'Württembergische Metallwarenfabrik' = WMF in Geislingen / Germany has an ostrich as trade-mark: The ostrich is edged by rotated square framed here by square, too. Detailed : Stunning pair of claret and water jugs which have the function for holding red wine and water. - The jugs have silver-plated mountings: Spout, lid and handle which are stunningly ornamented with chiselled decorations consisting of scrolls, acanthus leaves, wine leaves and a mascaron visible at spout. Gorgeous etched and carved ornaments of leaves partially cover glass surface. Round tiered foot existing.
