Vintage Design

A hand-carved wooden Corpus Christi, originally finished in gesso and polychrome paint, now heavily distressed, dating to around the mid-18th Century, possibly earlier. It has been paired with a very large late 19th Century Black Forest carved cross with an extravagant foliage design. It's uncertain whether the cross was made as a replacement for the figure, or if they're a later marriage.

Detailed Condition	Very Good — This vintage/antique item has no defects, but it may show slight traces of use.
Restoration and Damage Details	Light wear consistent with age and use, Obvious, but attractive, wear to the Christ figure's gesso and paint finish, with only small fragments of paint remaining. Some rubbing to the dark colouring on the cross, but generally in excellent condition.
