About This Piece

Hand signed and numbered by artist with pencil. Edition of 50 prints. Gabriele De Stefano (Reggio Calabria 1936) is an eclectic italian painter and set designer. His works are characterised by a turning point in 1960s, marked by the decision of living in South America between the Indios Yanomami Community in Amazonia. The works preceeding the Amazonian staying are in fact more realistic and less fantastic that the contemporary works. This particular lithograph shows two children probably behind a glass door waiting their mother with a bouquet of flowers. Their mocking gaze could reveal something they try to hide. ''Children'' is a perfect and rare example of De Stefano's production before his Amazonian experience.
