Cosmo Console by Andrea Bonini Limited Edition Dimensions: D 40 x W 150 x H 90 cm. Materials: Steel, fumè glass and Rosso Francia marble. Made in Italy. Limited series, numbered and signed pieces. Custom size or finish on request. Also available in different marble options: Palissandro tigrato, Palissandro blue, Breccia red, Verde Alpi, Travertine and Palissandro classic. The aim of the Edition Collection is to launch a collection of sculptural furniture elements produced in a limited series which can be made exclusively by expert and specialized craftsmen. Each piece is intrinsically connected and portrays elegance through geometry and proportions. Meticulous detail of symmetry, bold and deep lines, virtuous and ample curves, cuts and grafts can be found in every single piece. Each product encloses the complexity of its production process in a pure and virtuous form. They are limited editions, each piece signed and numbered, appreciated as art or as design. They are the result of past experiences yet the keeper of future projects.

About the Creator

Franco Albini

Born near Milan in 1905, Franco Albini was an Italian architect, urban planner, and furniture designer active between the 1930s and the 1960s. He studied architecture at Milan’s famous Politecnico, apprenticed under master architect-designer Gio Ponti, and played a key role in formulating the Rationalist movement in Italy prior to World War II.

Throughout the post-war era, Albini continued to create furniture and architecture aimed at purity of expression through modularity and affordable materials. While his work tends toward formal reduction, it also maintains a warmth and charm that stems from his enduring respect for context and tradition.

Albini worked with various mid-century manufacturers during his lifetime, including Cassina, Arflex, Poggi, Arteluce, Brionvega, and Knoll, and many of his designs are still in production. He received multiple awards for his work, including three prestigious Compasso d’Oro Awards.
