Vintage Design

The Crate armchair is a design icon and was designed by the famous Dutch architect and designer Gerrit Rietveld in 1934.

An avant-garde example of the use of simple materials, as it was originally made from recycled wooden crates, a revolutionary concept for that time.

The chair, characterized by a raw and minimal aesthetic, is built by assembling rectangular wooden planks simply screwed together. Our armchairs are probably a re-edition from the seventies, with ash structure and colorless lacquer finish. This combination of elements highlights the fusion between past and present, making the Crate Chair a timeless object that continues to stand out as a symbol of modernist design.
