A Dutch 18th century silver pipe brazier by Martinus Logerath, 1792, Amsterdam A Dutch Louis Seize pipe brazier with pearl edge and 3 claw feet on a ball base A hot pipe was placed in the brazier by the wealthy smoker. Entirely marked with Dutch hallmarks by the maker Martinus Logerath, (1767-1811), Year letter H of 1792, Amsterdam City hallmark The L of the "release mark" (1795) In 1795 it was stipulated that as a taxation all gold and silver objects had to be returned in the provinces of Holland, Zeeland and Utrecht. If one wanted to keep his / her silver, the value had to be paid for it, as proof of payment, a letter was stamped in it, the "release" sign. In the 20th century it is marked by the Dutch hallmark ZII, 835/1000 under the ball base with claw feet The measurements are 7.5 cm high and 14 cm diagonal The weight is 259 gram.
