Italian silver excellent serving platter vintage victorian period / made circa 1870 excellently made rectangular silver serving platter of finest quality. the platter's middle area as well as part of edge have smooth surface / frame of edge is decorated with finest ornaments: these are acanthus scrolls covering scalloped edged areas. MADE CIRCA 1870 SILVER 800 branded by ITALIAN MARK OF PARMA OR PIACENZA, CIRCA 1870: STYLIZED LILY FLOWER / numbered 516 / additionally, inscription: 'STERLING' is visible. Bibliography: Jan Divis, Silberstempel aus aller Welt, Prague 1985, mark number 1445 on page 181. MEASURES: LENGTH: 35.0 cm 13.77 inches WIDTH: 24.0 cm 9.44 inches The platter's lip comes 3 cm ( = 1.18 inches) off table's plate. SILVER WEIGHT: 780 GRAMS 27.51 OZ
