We are delighted to offer for sale this very rare original pair of Japanese Meiji bronze candlestick holders wrapped with dragons circa 1870 A lovely decorative pair, each mounted on wooded plinths with wax sealed bolts attaching the main bronze body, the dragons are beautifully sculpted and really very stunning to look at The style and size is more in keeping with urns but they have the hole at the top for candles which is a lovely touch The condition is excellent, they sit almost straight, each has a slight tilt, the base’s are solid and free from cracks, they have been waxed and polished and that’s it Dimensions Height:- 24.5 cm Width:- 12 cm Depth:- 12 cm. Please note vintage period and original items such as leather seating will always have natural patina in the form of cracking creasing and wear, we recommend regular waxing to ensure no moisture is lost, also hand dyed leather is not recommended to sit in direct sunlight for prolonged periods of time as it will dry out and fade.
