Vintage Design

Storage jar with 4 eyelet handles, in brownish glazed stoneware. Thailand, Sawankhalok/Si Sachanalai kilns, 15th/16th century (End of the Sukhothai period). Sawankhalok ceramics were at the center of an important trade from the 14th century, which rapidly intensified with Indonesia in particular. These pieces come from underwater wrecks discovered off the coasts of Malaysia and Indonesia, which is why they are dotted with concretions. Provenance: Estate of the Asian art dealer and collector Claude de Marteau. Sold with certificate of provenance. H 30 CM X Diameter 18 CM X Useful D 28 CM.

Item will be left in its packaging after delivery.
