About This Piece

"In photographing these little scenes I wanted to pay homage to the house and my mother.
with my childhood home series I am reinterpreting images from the home I grew up in. When my mother was slowly disappearing into alzheimer, she still made, without any intention, a sort of still lifes in- and around the house.
I know other people recognize their own childhood home in these pictures. As unique we think our homes were, they are formed for a large part by the time, country and social layer we are born into.
It is this transcending aspect which I want to catch and give form. We are in our age so busy telling ourselves we are all unique persons.
We overlook the fact that we are very much formed by our social environment."
