Vintage Design

Middle East rug hand-knotted from Isfahan 1900 to 1940.

Carpet weaving from Iran, probably an "American Sarouk", from the period 1900 to 1940, which was specially knotted for the American market. The country of origin goes back to Iran (formerly Persia), with the knotting place of the large carpet being Najafabad (Isfahan region).

The pattern is classic floral, with the typical reduced reduced colors, rust, red, dark blue and some brown / beige tones.
The hand-knotted carpet is made of new wool on cotton.
