About This Piece

Vintage Design

This Cartographic work called "Mirabile card from the North Sea to the Mediterranean," dated 1939, and published in 1940, was the result of the merger of 12 boards Opera cartographic "Great International Atlas" of the Italian Touring Club.

The work, written by the famous cartographer P. Corbellini for literary and artistic property Cartographic Office of C.T.I. (Consociazione Italian Tourist) and printed in Officine photolithographic S.A. Milan, has a scale of 1: 1,500,000.
Spread over an area of paper length 140 cm and width 96 cm. The whole is perfectly folded and stored inside a carpetta in an original card and dedicated.
The completeness of the information and cartographic precision, outstanding for its time, made this card a work of sophisticated and famous study worldwide. The technical and scientific detail with which it was drawn up it allowed its use in the military.
The carpetta, size L. H. 35.5 cm x 25 cm, also contains the "Europe Etnografica" card.

The "Ethnographic Europe" card is a mapping tool, 1:12 000 000 scale representing the ethnic distribution in accordance with criteria and classifications racial era. It is spread on a paper surface of length 56 cm and width 47cm
It's complemented by the original receipt with thanksgiving for purchase. It shall also indicate the prices in lire of the time.
