Painted Scripture of the Commandments on a slate church wall panel. This is a charming if large and heavy piece, the panel is in solid slate, it is an original artisan piece dating from the 18th century. The first 4 of the 10 commandments are painted in Mediaeval script with illuminated capital letters and decorated with vines. This is a rare piece, it came from a country parish church and is in original condition, one corned has been strengthened possibly it is a repair but it is quite stable. The panel is 61 inches high and 35 inches wide.
