The artist describes her work thus: 'In this "glow in the dark" collection I approached the natural effect of the underwater world as plankton, The diffuse phosphorescence of the sea is due to plankton. The animal and plant microorganisms that make up plankton emit light if they are somehow stimulated or disturbed: it is easy to observe this phenomenon at night, in the wake of a boat or around a school of swimming fish.
It was made in my studio in the Tuscan hills, using the technique of glass fusion at high temperature.'
