Set of 3 Poufs Charaktere Fred, Cuno and Hilma by Lyk Rug Dimensions: Fred: D 44 x H 52 cm / Cuno: D 46 x H 60 cm / Hima: D 53 x H 48 cm. Materials: 100% tibetan highland-wool, new pure hand-combed and hand-spun wool, natural vegetable-dyed wool, 100 knots per square inch. Hand-knotted, manual techniques and pot-dying makes every Lyk Rug unique, slight variations in size & tone is possible. Please contact us. Mareike Lienau designs rug objects and unique rugs for her label Lyk Carpet, which are hand knotted in Nepal. Her mission is to reinterpret craft and to bring it closer to young people. The superficial functionality of the She tries to radically question the superficial functionality of the carpet. Away from the rectangle Mareike wants to positive, lustful and imaginative the form & the craft, the material new, unseen and exaggerated show. Her approach asks: ‘What is contemporary about craft?‘ ,“Many people don’t really relate to products anymore. Mass production has led to today’s throwaway society. I want to contribute to raising people’s awareness, prompting them to think about products: how they are made and the resources involved; to generate values. I decided to do this through supporting the preservation of a cultural heritage, and by designing authentic objects. Contemplating and experiencing this artistic craft leads to new insights and points of view and enriches communication.with my textile posters and Pouf_Characters for example I am inviting people to ac- quaint themselves with a value creation chain, and to think about global responsibility.“
