Vase from Ciboure, a city located in the Atlantic Pyrenees, where pottery was born in 1919 specializing in the work of clay and white earth, and black and red dyes.
This object is signed "C. Fischer", Carmen Fischer (for Rodolphe of the same name), active in Ciboure from 1977 to 1995.
On this "art pottery" in sandstone in ocher, beige and gray tones is represented a picturesque scene of the Basque Country. The regional influence is denoted on one of the faces by the illustration of a young musician accompanying four young women dancing in traditional outfits. On the other side, the artist offers us Basquaise houses in a mountainous landscape.
This vase is provided with two important black handles, and on its collar extends the generous foliage of the tree represented on one of the sides.
