Small English Victorian Chest on Chest of Drawers, 1890s

Vintage Design

This is a handsome chest on chest which dates to the late Victorian era.

Made of mahogany and mixed woods it is a quality piece which is nicely made and elegantly styled.

The chest is tall and quite narrow and so is well suited for use in a room or home with limited space.

The chest splits into two sections, the top having two small over two wide drawers, the bottom section three wide drawers, all are finished with ornate brass drop handles.

The chest is set on bracket feet and the wood has a French polished finish whih has a mid sheen.

The chest has been sympathetically restored in our workshop.

CONDITION

The chest is generally in solid structural condition with various small cosmetic marks of age and use.

Repairs have been made to the edging around the top of the base section.

The drawers run well for their age and the interiors are in clean condition, there is some wear to the bottoms of the drawers commensurate with age.

One of the side panels has some small shrinkage cracks near the base.
