About This Piece

Vintage Design

Cette commode à mouvements, ventrue en façade et sur les côtés, ouvre par deux tiroirs. Leurs marqueteries en bois forment des damiers entourés aux pourtours en acajou. Ils sont pourvus de poignées de tirage tombantes et d’une entrée centrale en bronze, avec clefs et serrures d’origine fonctionnelles.
Les traverses sont en placage, et celle du bas est ornée d’un important bronze ajouré, avec feuillages et fleurs.
Le dessus, dans un épais marbre brocatelle jaune du Jura, mouluré en gorge et à doucine, épouse parfaitement les lignes de la commode.
Les côtés ventrus sont dans le même goût et composés des mêmes essences de bois que la façade des tiroirs.
L’ensemble repose sur quatre pieds. Ceux de l’avant, au galbe prononcé, sont garnis de chutes ajourées en haut et de sabots en bas.
Les intérieurs de tiroirs et l’arrière du meuble sont en chêne massif.
On appréciera cette commode, notamment, pour l’harmonieux contraste de ses bois clairs et foncés, qui rend ce meuble ancien moderne.
