Extraordinary trumeau made in France at the beginning of the 19th century, composed of mirror and oil on canvas. A trumeau is a type of decorative mirror that originated in France during the 18th century. It is characterized by being mounted on a wooden structure, typically adorned with decorative carvings or paintings, especially on the upper area of ​​the mirror. The carvings were usually in high relief with symbols such as musical instruments, a floral bouquet or a pigeon's nest. Trumeaux were often installed above fireplaces or between windows, and were a prominent feature in the interiors of French aristocratic homes during the Rococo and Neoclassical styles.
In this case, it presents an extraordinary painting and on the part, a silver mirror. All supported by a wooden frame carved and gilded with fine gold.
