VII prise de mon bureau is a wonderful original pencil drawing watercolored on ivory-colored paper, realized in 1914 by a French artist whose signature seems to be J. Denis. Title, date and signature in pencil on lower left margin: ''Somme-Taurbe 27/9/14 J. Denis / VII prise de mon bureau''. The military scene is described with loveliness and freshness of sign and a rapid touch. In excellent conditions, except for a light foxing on higher margin and a usual yellowing of the paper at the edges. This artwork is shipped from Italy. Under existing legislation, any artwork in Italy created over 70 years ago by an artist who has died requires a licence for export regardless of the work’s market price.
