Vintage Danish Bronze Casket Box by Edward Aagaard w/ Thyra Dannebod. Box was made by renowned Danish artist Edward Aagaard who was active in the mid 1900s. He specialized in artwork and design inspired by Viking and early Danish history. This box has the depiction of Thyra Dannebod who was Viking queen of Gorm the Old who brought Christianity to Denmark. Commonly referred to in Denmark as Viking Treasure chest it is suitable for storing jewelry and other personal smalls. The Danish National Anthem is inscribed on the inside of the lid. Measurements: 20x9.5x10 cm. It features wonderful detail throughtout and retains and beautiful patina. Inscribed to its backside: Iron Art, Copenhagen Denmark.
