Vintage 18k White Gold Daisy Ring with Doublet Opal and Brilliant Cut Diamonds, 1960s

Honestly, when I saw this ring I was truly speechless, unable to express the sense of wonder and enchantment it left me with. If its daisy shape and the way the stones were arranged are classic, the choice of stones and, above all, the final result, unique, special and simply magical, are undoubtedly less “obvious”. In the center we find a doublet opal that is nothing short of divine, but which differs in one important detail: if in fact, in most cases, a doublet opal is composed of a thin layer of stone on top and a darker material underneath, in this case the opal is complete, and therefore the opposite of thin; it is thus cut as an oval cabochon and always with a layer of material at its base, so that the thousand colors that fill it can be fully released and in all their strength, creating effects so incredible that it is difficult to believe that they are real and that it is not a magic trick. To surround it, sparkling and bright diamonds were chosen, perfectly positioned next to each other and inside single multi-prong settings; they are all brilliant cut and for an estimated total of 1.60ct approx. Is there a better way to close by telling you that the entire setting is in 18K white gold?
