About This Piece

Vintage Design

Pair of large table lamps; the thick brass plate was machined to manual lathe into several pieces which were then carefully assembled by hand; for turning in the slab starts by a boxwood wooden model object to realize fixed on a lathe and using a special tool, the craftsman makes perfectly adhere the metal foil to the wood (see photo) thus giving it the shape volute (the boxwood, of oriental origin, is particularly suitable, because of its hardness to these turning work); the lamps were then manually buffed and polished; while being very large their shape has been well studied making harmonious and pleasantly elegant. The electrical part was made new, however wiring is European, then the compatibility of the voltage in the other Member must always be checked by a qualified electrician before use. The initial set photos is just explanatory lampshades are not included. Produced in northern Italy between 1965 and 1970.
