Set of 4 Yellow Cana stool by Pauline Deltour by Cristina Celestino Materials: Galvanized and powder-coated tubular steel. Caña Flecha. Technique: Hand-woven with natural fibers in Colombia. Natural dyed. Dimensions: Diameter 40.2 x height 48.1 cm Available in colors: black/ natural, black, yellow/ natural, sand, dark red/ natural, carne, vivid red/ natural, dark red. The adorable Cana stool, designed by Pauline Deltour, adds a fun pop of color to any room. Its round seat is braided by hand from caña flecha, a natural material that is obtained from the eponymous palm. It takes many steps of manual labor to extract the fibers from the caña flecha palm leaves before they are colored with natural dyes. Then the artisans use the fibers to braid the seat by hand. The frame of the stool is made of powder-coated steel. Just the preparation of all the materials takes three days, while the production of each stool takes four days. Born in France, Pauline Deltour’s aesthetic is defined by being strikingly simple and beautifully detailed at once. Her designs showcase a curiosity in the qualities of the raw materials and transferring production techniques between disciplines.
